If you find yourself being subjected to verbal abuse or profanity via in-game chat (or typed abuse via text chat), or you see a driver violating the sporting code, remember that these types of behavior are in direct violation of the iRacing Code of Conduct. This means that even if the verbal abuse or profanity is the result of something that happened on-track that was clearly your fault, you can STILL file a protest for being subjected to verbal (or textual) abuse or profanity. It's up to everyone in the iRacing community to adhere to the Code of Conduct in order to ensure that iRacing as a whole remains friendly and civil, and nobody deserves to be treated badly. If you find yourself on the receiving end of anything that you consider abusive -- or even if you just happen to witness someone else being subjected to any type of abusive behavior or profanity -- the guidelines for how to file a protest can be found in Section 8 of the Sporting Code, and the format for filing a protest is covered in Section 8.2.3. All it takes to email iRacing at protest@iRacing.com to file a protest containing the info shown in the Sporting Code. This is an example of of a properly formatted protest: Session ID: 1247836/54220

Accompanying Attachments: chat_text.jpg Incident.rpy It's up to all of us to make sure that abusive behavior and profanity isn't tolerated, because if we allow bad behavior to go unchallenged, we run the risk of having that type of behavior become the norm, and nobody wants that. |
