I am having trouble updating/installing/downloading the software. What are some things I can look at?

a) Getting an error dialog box:

If you're receiving a dialog box telling you "c:Program Files (x86)iRacingupdater

iRacingUpdater.exe failed" the quickest fix is to reinstall iRacing using the

instructions in the Resinstalling iRacing.com Article

b)  Update Page Disappears and returns to Home page:

After clicking the update button on the page, the browser windows closes and

returns you to the Home Page of the members site you may need to turn off Windows

UAC. If you're using Windows Vista, see this article.  If you're using Windows 7 see this

     article.

c)  Blank Update Page:
Please make sure all of the iRacing .exe's are listed in all of your anti-virus, firewall and
proxy server exceptions list. See  Instructions
for more information.

d)  Check c:program filesiRacingDownloadupdates folder:
Check this folder for files.  If there are files listed there, the updates have been
downloaded, you may need to run the iRacingUpdater.exe manually.  Navigate to the
c:program filesiRacingupdater folder and right click on the iRacingUpdater.exe file and
choose Run as Administrator from the menu.

e) Service Not Running:

Please go to Task Manager...Processes Tab and make sure iRacingService.exe is listed.

f)  Please make sure you are logged into your workstation with administrative rights.

g)  Open Control Panel...Programs (or Add/Remove Programs) and you see Windows Live OneCare Family Security listed and you don't use this, please uninstall it. This does require a reboot of your computer.

h)  If you are connecting through a router, please try and bypass your router and connect your PC directly into your modem. If this works, you will need to either update the routers firmware, add the .exe's to the router's exception list or consult the router manufacturer.

i)  If you are still having issues, please contact support@iracing.com
