Setting Nvidia Graphics Options in Windows Vista

Setting Nvidia Graphics Options in Windows Vista
KBA-01025
Purpose & Scope

The iRacing.com Simulator will automatically optimize the graphics settings within the simulator for best performance with regard to your specific computer system. The video settings you have within Windows are taken into account when this configuration happens. It is always better to start with the least intensive settings for your card and work your way up to settings that will give you the best performance to graphics quality ratio. There are no right or wrong settings in the Nvidia Control Panel. One thing to consider is that the higher the numbers the greater the impact on performance.

Not all settings in the control panel would need to be adjusted. The four that have the greatest impact on system performance are listed below. To change any of these options, see the procedure below.

NOTE: The settings in this procedure are a recommended starting point if you are seeing a lack of graphical performance within the iRacing.com Simulator.

Procedure
1. Place your mouse anywhere on the desktop screen of windows and press your right mouse button. A menu will pop up, click the menu item.

2. Click the Manage 3D Settings Link at the upper left of the window.

 3. The right side of the control panel lists the various settings available with drop-down boxes. Set only the following as shown in Steps 5 - 7. Leave all others as they are.

4. Anisotropic Filtering Application-Controlled

5. Antialiasing - Mode Application-Controlled

6. Antialiasing - Settings Off

7. Vertical Sync Off

8. Click the button at the bottom right of the window. This will save the settings.

9. Close the Nvidia Control Panel by clicking the on the top right corner of the window.
